About Me

Carlos Lopez is a proud Mexican-American passionate about amplifying BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices in the public relations field and the local communities he belongs to. Navigating higher education has not been easy for him as a first-generation college student, but his main driving force has been his parents, who migrated from Mexico for a chance at the American Dream. He is currently a second-year graduate student studying public relations and advertising at the University of Southern California.

Carlos has been working in local government for over three years, where he has sharpened his skills in storytelling and public service. As an avid concertgoer and self-proclaimed fanboy, he is eager to apply his knowledge and expertise to the music industry. He deeply admires music’s ability to connect people worldwide, create a platform for the voiceless and influence pop culture.

Outside the classroom and cubicle, Carlos feeds his insatiable hunger for new experiences by hunting for vinyl records, sipping on the latest viral matcha latte and taking pictures on his Canon PowerShot SD10000 digital camera. His current music rotation includes A Matter of Time by Laufey, Femme Fatale by Mon Laferte and Submarine by The Marías.
